2025 was an interesting year. We posted slightly less reviews than we did in 2024 (alas, we received less guest reviews) but also rolled out several new features, including Reading the Torah With BookishlyJewish and just-for-fun bookstack photos across our socials. Overall, we reviewed 56 books! Below are some pie graphs breaking them down for those interested in a peek behind the curtain.

Nonfiction is here to stay! After not reviewing it for two years, and then slowly dipping in our toes, we were shocked to find it was our second most reviewed category this year!
We need more YA. Publishing, please give us more Jewish YA.
We really try and read all the books that authors and publishers are kind enough to send us (although it takes a while sometimes), but we’re no strangers to the library! Budget mostly goes to the website, so books we owned come from event like Raid The Shelves and gift cards.

This is our first year including audio (nonfiction only so far), and it is super fun! There is one book we actually read in audio and on paper.
Benefits to sending us a physical copy of your book – we can read it on Shabbat and include it in our book stack photos. But yes, we do read digital and understand many authors don’t have a shipping budget. Plus we use Libby a lot.
We honestly were surprised at how many reviews we got posted in 2024, but still proud of our 2025 numbers. We’d love more guest reviews, so please head here to help us out and submit. Hoping to at least match this number in 2026!
